Presentation Night

IBIS ASSEMBLE!

Rounding out the official part of the year is Presentation Night for QUT Hockey. Its a time to get together and celebrate all the year's successes and pay tribute to the people that keep our club running.

Trophies, trophies, trophies

Trophies are a big part of the evening with the Golden Hog and Golden Hogette going to the top scorers in both Women's and Men's competition's. Each season, players display their inability to perform basic hockey skills such as passing, hereby reinforcing their general lack of teamplay and selflessness to vie for the top spot as the year's Golden Hog/Hogette.

Of course, a few major awards of the year are the David Boon for the Men and the Champagne Cup for the Women. Each award is voted on by the entire club to reward the players that most embody the true spirit of QUT Hockey on and off the field. Generally, contenders put more effort into winning this award then actually playing hockey and we salute them for it.

Thanks for everything

It's also a time to thank everyone for all the hard work that has been put in behind the scenes as well. Coaches, managers, committee members, volunteers and supporters all put in a lot of effort each year and its always a great privilege to honour them around this time. Without the tireless efforts of these people, our club wouldn't be the fun and successful group that it is.

So bookmark the 17th of September @ the Melbourne Hotel, West End, get dressed up in something fancy and come down to celebrate with your club members. If we're lucky, we might even get to hear a speech from Dragon.
