A huge THANK YOU to everyone who collected for the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal last weekend! The organisers have asked me to pass on their grateful appreciation to all our collectors. We had 47 people collecting this year and collected $6,882.35 for the Red Shield Appeal. This is our highest amount of collectors and most money collected ever and will make a real difference to the community services the Salvation Army is able to provide. Please give yourselves all a big pat on the back.

Hockey Australia is asking for nominations of people who have taken on a leadership position within the Hockey Community and have contributed to improving hockey. They want to award hockey individuals aged between 15-20years of age and that are mad about hockey and everything about it!! Nominated individuals need to have held a leadership position within the Hockey Community over the past 2 years and acted as a role model for youngsters. The criteria and a nomination form have been attached, it should be noted that this certificate is not based on playing ability. State Nominations close Friday 4th June and all nominations will receive a Hockey Australia Youth Leadership Certificate (to be provided by Hockey Australia). The 2 best nominations from each State will be awarded with a FIH Youth Leadership certificate. One National Winner will then be selected from the best State Nominations to represent Australia at the 5th World Hockey Youth Promoters Festival 2010 being held in Monchengladbach, Germany from the 1st – 7th August 2010. Hockey Australia will announce the National Winner on Friday 25th June. The aim of the WorldHockey Youth Promoters Festival is to create hockey development awareness among young people – who are our future coaches, managers, umpires, technical officials or administrators – to promote hockey as a global sport played all around the world and, last but not least, to give Youth a Voice. Any further queries should be sent through to Georgia Green 03 9947 9908 or georgia.green@hockey.org.au Youth Leader Certificate 2010 Criteria Nomination Form
